TALLOW
Tallow is rendered beef fat. We specifically use beef suet for our tallow, which is the valued fat that surrounds the kidneys/organs. It’s rich in fatty acids that help form the lipids that keep skin protected and moisturized. We source 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef suet from a local Ontario farm that utilizes regenerative agriculture and holistic management.
One of the key benefits of tallow for your skin is its composition, which closely resembles our own skin’s natural oils. This means that tallow is easily absorbed and does not clog pores.
Tallow contains natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Tallow rendered from grass-fed and grass-finished cattle provides some of the following nutrients:
- Vitamins A, D, K, E and B12
- Choline
- CLA
- Other fatty acids, including:
- Stearic acid and oleic acid
- Conjugated linoleic acid
- Palmitoleic acid
- Palmitic acid
Our tallow undergoes a triple process of rendering. We do this to purify the tallow and reduce odor. While we strive for minimal odour, it is hard to control each batch as the scent of our tallow is dependent on the seasons and the pastures the cattle graze upon.
